This was the final sold out show of this run. Cafe Berlin is a beautiful old jazz club from the 50's with a storied history and a picturesque stage and curtain. The weather was shit, the previous few days had been grueling. The band was low on energy and battling illness, but the setting and crowd was inspiring and provided one of the more inspiring sets. Franklin overcame some technical difficulties early on (always the mic or mic stand) to put on one of his more dazzling performances for a full house. We really needed this show at this particular time. Afterwards, the band went out as a group and spent, what seemed like the first evening in ages, sitting with each other and discussing the previous few nights show notes.
