about

As we return home from our lengthy whirlwind European tour, where we were playing almost every night, we’ve needed some time to recalibrate. We are working towards getting back into the regular habit of sharing updates and live shows and rarities. We appreciate everyone’s continued support while we’ve been collecting new concert audio and stories to share as well as getting back into writing mode in hopes of sharing new music soon.

One of the highlights of this particular tour was returning to the A38 boat venue that’s moored on the Danube river in Budapest, our first time playing there in 5 years. We filmed and recorded this entire concert to be aired next month on Hungarian television. During this process we also discovered our previous show at A38 from 2018 that we are sharing in its entirety here. This concert was towards the end of the 'Underside of Power' campaign and marked our first visit to a lot of this part of the world.

A stellar set, it is interesting to see how much of our live show has changed since the last time we were on that stage and how much has stayed the same. There are great versions of some songs that we haven’t been playing in a long time that now may reenter our set after listening back here.

We’ve also been going back through archives of studio sessions while we sketch out our next record and have come across some interesting little bits that have never been released and are worth sharing. More on that soon.

about

Algiers Atlanta, Georgia

Algiers is a band of musicians born in Atlanta, Georgia, the rotten hub of the Ol’ American South, where W.E.B. Dubois once saw a riot goin’ on, and where the hell and highwater swirls ‘round to the knees.
