about

As many of you are already aware, we had our van robbed in Milan right after the show. It was incredibly deflating and difficult to deal with. Especially after such an exhilarating performance. At that point, Milan had been one of the highlights of the tour. We were beginning to click as a band in ways that we hadn't since summer of 2019. The last thing we expected to be thinking about on our ride out of the city was how to recover from losing so much important equipment.

Fortunately for us, you all were incredibly generous and thoughtful and we would not have been able to continue the tour without your contributions from the GoFundMe. With gas prices, van hire, hotels, and just about everything else higher in price since these concerts were originally booked and planned (at the end of 2019), we were only breaking even on this run and the lose of the equipment was making the summer and fall tour dates almost seem like an impossibility.

Over the next couple of days we were able to borrow gear from people in each town and then replace some of the important elements once we got into Germany where the music store, Thomann, had a lot of the things that we needed in order to continue.

We were a bit deflated and nervous taking the stage the next time, but the showing of support gave us a jolt of energy and really transformed out live sets. The Munich show, also featured here, turned out to be one of the best performances in the last few years and made it all worthwhile. Before sharing some of the other high points later in the tour, we thought it might be interesting for you to compare the sets and energy before and after the robbery. We didn't miss a beat.

about

Algiers Atlanta, Georgia

Algiers is a band of musicians born in Atlanta, Georgia, the rotten hub of the Ol’ American South, where W.E.B. Dubois once saw a riot goin’ on, and where the hell and highwater swirls ‘round to the knees.
